Work your fingers to the bone, what do you get?

Boney fingers, as my mother always says. :)

Brad has begun working with his dad learning his way around Master Builder. MB is a piece of software which handles accounting for construction companies. Brad has been taking online classes nearly every day for a week now in the mornings. He says it's not too hard, but he's quite computer-smart, so I just think it's a good fit for him. We've had most of the afternoons together as he isn't working full days yet. I'm going to miss him when I have to go to work all day!

By the way, some of you have been asking for our information (address, phone). I don't know who has access to seeing this blog, so I'm not going to put it on here, but I'd be happy to email it to you if you drop me a line. kathleenbressler@gmail.com

And I just realized that up until last night I had the settings for "comments" to be "only allowed from registered members"-- sorry about that. You can now leave a comment without being registered. I hate all those hoops to jump through.

In fact, if you're reading this, why don't you leave a comment about what your favorite flavor of ice cream is. Last night we went to Royal Scoop, a homemade ice cream place down here. I tried the pistachio- tasted just like pistachio pudding and had tons of pistachios in it. Quite yummy, but I think I prefer the chocolate peanut butter. Mom must have eaten it while pregnant with my sister and me because we both love the stuff. :)

Dear K & B: Love this blog idea--go technology! The house looks and sounds terrific, am running out of adjectives to describe. Thank you for the photo, can't believe that you will have your own home after being married only a year, what a blessing! Am enjoying your experiences as new southerners, but I must admit the snakes don't excite me either, actually they do excite me but in a negative way. Think positive about all the beautiful water birds: egrets, ibis, spoonbill, etc. I would like your address, but in the futher when you move in. Warm today, remember how Brad teases about my weather reports, and this weekend is Christina's wedding--hot hot hot for an outdoor reception. Loved talking with you last Saturday. Bye for now. Love, Mom

Brad and Kath,

I have seen quite a lot of folks start and eventually abandon blogs, you are quite a good writer and I hope you keep it up, it has been fun to read.

Once you get settled, send me an email with your actual address so we can send you tons of lavish house-warming gifts, or at least a jar of pickles or something.

As any reasonably intelligent person knows the definitave flavor of ice cream is peach, and Graters makes the best one I've found short of home made.

So there you have it Graters peach, best ice cream around.

Unluess you mean grocery store brand kind of best, then it's cherry garcia from Ben and Jerry's...

And tell Brad to check his email.

I have to say one of my favorites is oatmeal cookie flavored from Evanston Creamery. Good stuff.

The new Low Carb/Splenda Chocolate peanut butter Breyers- you'd think it'd be lame or gross but its the closest thing to the Breslers/Baskin Robbins Peanut Butter N' Chocolate I've found.

Please be advised that not only did I not eat chocolate peanut butter ice cream during either pregnancy, but I really don't like that flavor--why ruin chocolate with peanut butter, why not add almonds or some toffee. Mom

As a resident southerner (I count myself from the south now, mostly when it's convenient) I have some thoughts on southern life for you guys.

Hurricanes are weenie compared to tornados. You have a week to prepare for a hurricane, 30 seconds for a tornado. No comparison...

It rains everyday for 10 minutes. And, it's not even really rain, it's more like the air just can't handle anymore humidity, and water comes pouring out of the sky.

Less than 60 is cold. Be prepared for people to start complaining once it gets below this temp. When it hits 50, people start talking about a 'Blue Norther', which I still haven't figured out.

The best ice cream = vanilla. With hot fudge. Lots of it. And oreos. And nuts. Sprinkles too. Whipped cream on top. did I mention hot fudge?

Love the blog, Kath. I like the name 'blog' even better. Sounds like an evil superhero. Watch out for 'The Blog'!

konnichiwa from Tokyo, I feel obligated to say that my favorite ice cream is green tea...but that would be a lie, and lying is wrong...so I'll confess that my favorite flavor is Haagen-Dazs Berry Berry Parfait, which is sold here in Japan in convenience stores...it's "layers of strawberry ice cream, raspberry sorbet, strawberry sauce, raspberry sauce, and crushed chocolate cookies" all in one tasty little package. Excuse me. I'll have to be on my way out to Seven Eleven now.
