Here is our pedestal sink which was one of the last things to be installed. It's in our guest bathroom and I think it adds a lot of charm. It's very cute.Just after Mom left-- three days later-- we finally closed on the house. As soon as we had keys we installed faux wood blinds in the office, guest room, and kitchen windows. Here is one finished product. We love them!
Just as we were installing the final shade I remarked, "I'm so impressed with us! Usually something goes awry in do-it-yourself home improvement, but this has gone so smoothly!" Well, about two minutes later we realized that I had mismeasured and the last blind was a half inch too wide for the window opening. Brad was particularly disappointed, it would seem.
We tried, er, Brad tried to secure movers with two days' notice, at the END of the month. Yeah, good luck. He did find some who were willing to move our stuff from storage to the house for, oh, about EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS. So He-man himself rented a truck and did much of the work himself. Ralph helped a ton on Friday, and Jeff and Rico helped on Saturday. We did it for a whole lot less than $800.
