So I haven't posted in way too long.
Here's what we've been up to!
This past weekend was jam-packed with family time. We had our biweekly family night at our house-- grilled chicken sandwiches, chips, homemade salsa (more on that later), and Great Grandmother Bertha's recipe for Oatmeal Crispies cookies-- out of this world. I also tried to do suntea as I was missing my mom a lot, and she used to do suntea a lot. (Sun tea is when you stick some tea in a jar with water and sit it out in the sun to brew). But it started to rain before the tea got strong enough, and we didn't actually grill the chicken, we baked it. We all ate and sat around chatting until 10 p.m. or so! It was truly a cup-runneth-over time for me-- I love having people over, seeing them connect with each other and be comfortable. Brings me tons of joy. Oh, and besides the regulars, we also had Aunt Keekee and Cousin Drew in town for extra fun!
Saturday was more family time as the women of the family went to tea in Naples in honor of Bethany's second pregnancy. She didn't want a shower, so we went to a British tea room instead and had a lovely time eating finger sandwiches with cucumber, scones with Devon cream, and tea pastries. And the tea was something amazing. I bought a box of the Raspberry Rendezvous because it was just too good not to take home with me.
Oo- that's all for now. Brad's finished with the work he had to do tonight so I'm going to give him part of his anniversary present early. I did a good job with presents this time (I'm notoriously bad at buying presents for him) and I just can't wait any longer for him to open one of the boxes. And I'm not being suggestive here.
Love to you all-
K
