So Brad woke up for the second time this morning as I was finishing baking the orange rolls (from a can, of course). As we ate breakfast we talked about the car situation and our uneasiness with our transaction at Acura. We just felt funny that not everyone knew there was a problem with the car-- we felt like it was being hidden, and that was the moral issue with us.
As we were talking Brad's phone rang. 10:30 am, Sunday morning. It's either bad news or a wrong number-- no one calls us Sunday morning. It was our salesguy from Acura, of all people. He called to tell us that the Heathcliff movie was on Showtime. (Background-- one of the many conversation topics we hit yesterday with him was the cartoons we watched growing up-- Inspector Gadget, and Heathcliff, among others.) Since he was on the phone (in divine time, we felt), we told him how we were feeling. After we said all we needed to, and he said his responses, we felt much, much better about the deal. We were afraid that it had been kept a secret, and he said that he had talked with the mechanic who appraised it as well as the general sales manager who both knew there were issues there. And he said that the Honda place sort-of defaulted to "needs a new engine", when really it could be a host of other issues.
All in all, we feel much better about the deal. We laid everything out there and asked him to make sure it was handled in a manner that would be clear on everyone's conscience.
Thanks for your input, friends.
P.S. We also tried a new church this morning-- First Assembly of God. It was better than I expected! The worship was Spirit-filled and quality, and the sermon was good as well. We need to learn more about their doctrine as well as community/small groups, but it's in the running! By the way, the sermon was about how we should live lives that would cause others to wonder what is different about us... hmmm, timely?

While this has nothing to do with your moral dilema, (which I'm glad seems resolved) this is one of the funniest videos I've seen in a while.
