Woo hoo! I've just finished contacting all 29 houses for sale in our neighborhood! I drove around last night and wrote down addresses and phone numbers for each house for rent or for sale, and today I contacted them all to see if the listing agents or owners are interested in joining in our neighborhood-wide open house! Twenty-nine properties, all in a circle less than a mile in diameter. Pretty amazing. Which tells you why I've been less than hopeful about our house selling. Anyway, I just called a boatload of folks and got some email addresses and will be getting more info out to them. The open house is scheduled for Sunday, April 1, from 1 - 4 p.m. My realtor is paying for the quarter page ad in the Homeseeker special section of the newspaper that weekend, and I'll be collecting $$ to cover the cost of balloons, helium, and signs. I just love planning things! Oh, and smart husband of mine thought of buying a bunch of hot dogs from Costco and grilling out. The ad will direct people to my house where they can pick up a map of the neighborhood and a free hot dog (and also buy my house.) That was my Realtor's suggestion. Oh, I am excited.
Mom arrives tonight and we plan to spend much time reading and vegging. It always happens that we do a bunch of stuff and relax not as much as we'd like, but this time I think we really will relax well. We all need it!
Have a great weekend, all!
