An evening like no other

We tried a new church tonight down in Naples.  I'm too tired to say much except that the folks there were like a big family and very welcoming.  The worship was great and we really enjoyed it.  Haven't heard a ram's horn in a while-- it was great to be reminded of what that sounds like. We were recognized as first-time visitors and were given gifts by the pastor-- Brad got a 2002 Bass Pro Shop fishing t-shirt and I got a hot glue gun with glue sticks.  The direct quote was, "Do you do crafts? Well, maybe you should."  The sermon was delivered by a mentee of the pastor's who was in desperate need of some adhd medicine.  The sweet man was terribly well meaning but not so much gifted as a teacher.  Midway through the pastor interrupted him and told him they'd make it a two-week series, so just finish half tonight.

We topped off the evening with dinner at a new Chinese restaurant where the kind server brought out hot towels at the end of the meal.  Now our hands reek of baby powder fragrance and we're a bit sick to our stomachs, despite asking for no MSG.

Truly an evening like no other.
