you all are for the long weekend. Even though my schedule this fall
is clear on Mondays, I'm looking forward to the time with Brad to just
refresh from these busy two weeks.
Things I've learned lately:
1.) "Study Buddies" are a good thing. For your dating life. There are
two budding romances in my last class, and the couples are cuter than
cute. It's really fun to see them getting to know one another over
solving problems using the Quadratic Formula. Nothing like radicals
to bring out the wooing. Terribly cute.
2.) I'm pretty darn sure God does not want us to sell the house right
now. Anyone else consider it an amazing coincidence that this
happened? Tuesday an article runs in the big Fort Myers paper, with
our names and house blog on the front page. Thirty hits on the blog
that day, a few on Wednesday. But then on Wednesday we call to get a
quote for homeowners insurance and are told we'll have to buy the
governmental policy at $400 a month, as Allstate can't write policies
if the house is for sale, and they read the newspaper. So in order to
prove that we're not actively trying to sell the house (no MLS
listing, no agent, no sign out front, and now no blog nor craigslist
posting) I had to take the blog down, basically removing any chance
that anyone will buy our house. Huh. Interesting timing there, God.
And I'm ok with that, especially with the news today that there might
be some relief from the government for those of us who have adjustable
rate loans.
3.) I love working with my husband. It is such a blast. We stocked
up on Wednesday at Target on lunch foods-- bags of chips, applesauce,
Easy Mac, etc., to keep in my office. On Wednesday and Friday I have
a real lunch break and we get to eat together. Plus, commuting
together is just awesome. Makes the drive more relaxed and we get to
debrief on the way home.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and enjoy your extra day!
