I don't mean to go on and on about why I want to leave, but sometimes I can't stop myself from sharing.

Seriously.

One boss just came in complaining about an Hispanic buyer who is having doubts about the mortgage process he's going through. Today the buyer decided to explore another option, which halts the process that we worked out for him. This wasn't what Boss wanted to hear. So he sighed deeply and then spat, "Ethnics."

OH MY GOSH. I just burst out in nervous, incredulous laughter. "Boss, that's a terribly racist thing to say!"

He laughed. "No it's not. It's purely a cultural thing. All those ethnics just have a different timetable."

He was so tickled at my comment that he pulled Other Boss into my office. "Did you hear about that mortgage situation, Other Boss? Those ETHNICS."

Other Boss said, "I KNOW! They just need to trust us on this."

And I said, "Other Boss, I just told Boss that he needs to watch his speech. Saying 'Ethnics' like that is a very racist thing."

To which Boss replied, "I don't give a shit."
