One more thing I'm looking forward to once we get to Ohio...
I have a black thumb, or a shriveled thumb, or whatever is the opposite of a green thumb. As a result we have absolutely no landscaping other than grass. Nothing. Bare lawn, that's it. And if we didn't have automatic sprinklers, the grass would be dead, too. So when we get to move, someday, my mother is going to teach me to garden. And I will get to have plants like these, which nearly move me to tears. There's something about peonies that is so comforting and soothing-- the delicate pink blossoms remind me of my mother's garden and my wedding bouquet.
