I came in to work today and, being resigned to inflict open communication on everyone, announced that I was setting the temperature at 75 and could we please keep it there all day. Colleague of course objected, "You're turning the air on NOW?"
To which I replied, "Yes, it's hot and sticky in here."
"Then open the doors."
"Well, it's supposed to rain and it's quite humid. I'd like to leave them closed."
Then Boss jumped in, "Yes, turn on the air. It's hot in here." (!!!!!)
Colleague replied, "Fine, I'll just sit here and freeze all day."
To which I said, "If there's something that can be done to make you more comfortable, I'm all ears, Colleague."
To which she said, "No, I'm sure there isn't." And she shut her door.
Oh, for small victories of consistent temperatures. I don't really ask for much. I'll keep you posted.
