Once upon a time, a few months ago, I had a pedicure. I have a "beauty" budget for haircuts, and now that I get my haircuts done at the beauty school for $5, I have enough left over for a pedicure every few months. So I had a pedicure on a Saturday morning in January. Just before I left the house, I kissed sleepy Brad goodbye and told him where I was going. "Spoil yourself rotten," he said to me as I left. Which I did. I stopped in the grocery next door to the salon to pick up some deoderant, without which I would have spoiled rotten in a different sense. I was in the checkout line when I spotted Cottage Living Magazine, something I've drooled over before while in line checking out. This time, with Brad's sweet words ringing in my ears, I bought an issue. And I felt spoiled rotten the whole time I devoured it. (The foot massage and pedi didn't hurt, either.)
What sets this mag apart from my other favorite home mags is its emphasis on enjoying the space you have, instead of adding on and acquiring mini-mansions with expansive acreage. I just love that perspective, so I subscribed. And as an added bonus, I received an email with a link to read the whole thing online. So, dear readers, if you'd like to check out an issue online, drop me an email and I'll forward the link on to you. It's good for the soul.
