Veritable social butterflies are we

This past weekend was a blur! On Saturday we shopped nearly every hardware store in town looking for some specific garage-organization items. When we finally found everything we went over to Rico and Beth's to help them with their garage. It's a fair exchange-- Rico is mowing our lawn this summer since he started a mowing service. It's soooo nice not to lose my husband for the whole Saturday, as mowing is a tough job with this grass and it's hades-hot out which is draining and nap-inducing. So we hung up 2 by 4s on the walls and attached hanging racks to the boards. About two hours later, the garage looked incredible! We came home, made pizza, and crashed.

On Sunday we painted the town red, sort of. We went to church in the morning, met the family to celebrate three birthdays (little Bethany, Chris, and Rico), took a quick nap, then went back to church for small group, then out to dinner after! We didn't get home until 10:30 p.m.! It was exhausting but really fun. At lunch Steak and Ale gave us our own little room which was perfect for the little kiddies. And dinner at Perkins left much to be desired cuisine-ly speaking, but it was really nice to have social time with, dare I say, friends?! Is it possible we're actually making friends down here? We also had a really powerful prayer time at small group which was sooo nice. While it's a super far cry from what we came from, it's beginning to become a church home for us. And the people have been super-welcoming and kind to us.

Since then the week has flown by. I've been cleaning a bit, talking with a few people about various job opportunities (no luck yet), and on Tuesday I got to hang out with Kena for the day! We made ribbon headbands (see below), tacos for a new mom in our church, and played at the indoor playground at Chick Fil A. I was ready to drop by the end of the day!

Today I have a phone pre-interview for a math teaching assistant position at a local university. It's my first choice for a job at this point. I'll let you know what happens.
