
...I've started to make a wreath from all those white shells we picked up at the beach last year. Since Martha's site gives only the minimum of directions, I'm not totally sure I'm doing things right, but it's looking decent. I'll keep you posted.

I'm also on a quest to become an Italian grandmother. Or at least to cook like one. I've never made a red sauce that I'm proud of, so I googled a bunch of recipes and decided to try this authentic-looking one. It's written in a wandering narrative and takes all day, so it must work, right? I made it on Friday and am pleased. The fun thing is that you add spices over and over at different times, so there are layers of flavors. It was a blast to make and hopefully will be a hit in lasagna at family night this friday.

And, happy for us, a Little Caesars Pizza opened up this week in Fort Myers. We had to try it out, of course, so we had a lovely little picnic in the car on Saturday afternoon.
