News of the day

1.) I'm loving my new crocs shoes. The first day I wore them they
squeaked when I walked, but I was quite comfortable, even at the end
of the day. The second day I put on some little socks called
not-socks, which are like little footies. They're barely visible and
keep the squeak to a minimum. Happy am I. What a difference. I
expect my chacos to arrive today. Anyone own these? They're like
tevas. I hope they're comfy, too.

2.) Not so funny thing happened this morning. Caution to all of you
whom I suggested purchase the automatic shower scrubber thing (ahem,
Sister). We love it, and it keeps our shower clean, but it is
slippery. I did one of those almost-the-splits moves this morning as
I got into the shower, and tried really hard not to fall. I didn't
fall, but as a result my hip muscles are all angry with me today. Use
extreme caution with those shower sprays. Drink coffee or other
caffeinated beverage before entering shower.

3.) I'm working on living by The Paper Source's motto: Do something
creative every day. Last night I was too tired to comply, but Tuesday
night I got a big bunch of my new fabric washed and folded, and I also
sewed up about a dozen hot pads. I was so energized by it that I felt
great even through yesterday. What a difference just an hour or so
makes!

4.) I got to talk to my sister last night to hear about her new job.
Two funny things she told me about: her worst-behaved student is
ironically named Angel. Angel likes to be destructive, especially if
that means whipping a corn-dog through the air in the cafeteria,
hitting another kid in the head. Another kid in the class got noticed
when he was eating something in class. One aid thought it was gum.
Steph pinched his cheeks until he spit out the golf-ball-sized wad of
sticky-tack he had stolen from the chalkboard ledge. Not yummy, kid.
Plus, the kid is like 5 or 6. Little mouth, big wad of sticky-tack.
I just know there are special blessings for my sister, both on earth
and in the hereafter.

That's about all for now. Have a great Thursday, all!
