We went out this morning to take a look at a truck-- an SUV actually, that we are thinking of buying. We're considering selling both of our cars and buying one older one in order to cut down on monthly expenses. So we headed over to Fort Myers to check out the '93 Toyota Forerunner. We looked at the inside, turned on the a/c, then went to look under the hood, as usual. Brad turned the little knob thing that revs the engine, and, satisfied, we decided to take it for a drive. What we didn't know was that revving the engine made the car think it was driving, which activated the automatic door locks. With all the keys inside. With the engine running.
I called triple A and out came these fine folks, less than a half hour later.

I was too fascinated by the process to take a picture while the guy was doing it, but there's his truck. He used an inflatable pillow sort-of-thing that he crammed into the front doorjamb. He inflated it with a little hand squeezie thing, which pried the door open just a bit, enough for him to slide a long wire rod in and hit the window-down button. Success! I thanked him and mentioned that maybe I should have one of these gadgets. "Where would you keep it, in your car?" he replied. Smarty.
After driving the car we realized that there were some significant issues that were deal breakers. We headed toward home with one stop in between. This place is just off the highway, and I've been wanting to check it out for a while.

What we didn't do is look around first. When the parking lot is filled with motorhomes, one can safely assume that this is not the REI-substitute one hoped it would be.

So we headed home and followed this lonely lady. You single folks out there, this is probably the best indicator of a good communicator, which is essential to a healthy and thriving relationship. If you look closely, her license plate holder reads, "SINGLE AND SEARCHING!"

And you're probably wondering what the title of this post is referring to. Well, I'm officially a craft-seller. Or at least signed up to be. Ashley (my WW friend) signed us up for a little neighborhood festival scheduled for late October. It's in San Carlos Park, which is technically a town, I guess, in between Fort Myers and Estero, on the way to Bonita Springs. It's quite a big deal for folks down here, and we're excited to be signed up. So far I've decided on a business name for myself-- The Pretty Goods Shop. I liked Pretty Goods, but that was taken on gmail, etsy, and blogger, so I'll make business cards with "The" and "Shop" real small, and "Pretty Goods" real big. Good enough for me. At this point I need to create a logo, get a stamp made, and oh, yeah, make stuff. I've been working on getting the office all in order, and also started a blog and email address. Now I need to learn how to start a small business, but there's a group at school who can help me with that.
My easiest creation are hot pads. I sew up washcloths just like my grandmother does. I sort of stocked up on washcloths.

And packaged in a nice box...

...they make a cute little gift.

Now I need to get a logo created, and get some bags and aprons made. Oh, so fun.
And this is where we'll be. If you'll be around, stop by and say hello!
