night at Ralph and Chris's house I was standing next to the car, both
feet half on the driveway and half on the grass. After a few seconds
I felt something on my legs. Ants. I had stepped on an anthill and
there were more than 25 ants crawling up my pantlegs, in my pants
(yes, I literally had ants in my pants), and in my shoes. Which isn't
that big a deal up north... but down here those ants are vicious
biters. Their bites swell up to a head overnight and the blister that
ensues itches like a @#$%^&* for at least 7 days. I think I avoided
getting bitten as I started dancing like a maniac and swatting at my
legs to get them off.
And then we went inside and found a dead frog in the office.
