What a week...already!

Here's our latest news.

1.) Brad will be ok, eventually. After a nasty cold, his earache turned into a burst eardrum...NO fun. Today he got some narcotics and eardrops, so hopefully after he wakes from his drug-induced stupor, er, nap, he will feel better. I've never seen him in pain like this, and the side of his face is swollen so that his ear is red and sticks out funny. Poor man.

2.) I gave my notice at school yesterday. (HOORAY!!!) I have 16 more days there. I will leave at Christmas break and take a month off over the holidays, and then begin my new job January 17th when we return from our Chicago weekend. What job, you ask? I was offered a position with our builder doing some assisting in contracting on residential building. Eight years ago I gave up on my construction management dreams to follow God's call into teaching. Now He has brought up contracting again, and I'm so very excited! Most importantly, Glenn and John are two men who run their small business without flashiness and with integrity. They want to do a good job in everything they do and treat people right. It's going to be a great situation. I'll miss kids, but will enjoy the health that comes from a less stressful enviroment.

3.) For some reason, I woke up itching everywhere today. I'm really annoyed. So, combined with the fact that Brad is sick, I found it necessary to take half the day off.

Dad comes Thursday morning for the holiday. We're excited to have our first houseguest! The decor is a long way from being done, but at least the house is livable, and in my month off maybe I can make a dent in paint color choices inside. :)

Love to you all, and a Happy Thanksgiving!
