Lost every battle, but I think I won the war.

It has been 75 in here consistently for two and a half whole workdays.  It's a record.

In other news, she just burned her lunch in the microwave so the whole office smells horrid.  But she's taking a half day today, so things are looking up.

In still other news, Dad is in town for a much-needed vacation.  Today is his second faceoff against my father-in-law in golf.  Yesterday he got spanked a bit, but he's sure to bounce back today.  We're going to try to take in a baseball game this weekend and relax a bit.

I'm working on plans for when Mom comes down.  Since I knew way ahead of time when she was coming I was able to get some time off, so we're going to do an airboat ride in the Everglades and who knows what else.  Might see the Corkscrew Swamp-- have heard great things about it.  I also want to take her to the Six Mile Cypress Slough as I enjoyed that thoroughly with Sam and Erika.

And tonight is a new experimental dinner.  I often make a chicken breast dinner called "pizza chicken"-- it's a chicken breast shaken in a bag of italian spices, breadcrumbs, and parmesan cheese-- and eat it with a veggie and white rice.  I named it pizza chicken way back in the day because it smelled like pizza, even though there is no red sauce or mozzarella in sight.  So I'm going to make pizza chicken on the George Foreman, then cover it with red sauce and provolone and bake it until the cheese melts.  Am also going to make angelhair pasta and roasted broccoli.  Yum.  I can't wait.

We're having a cookout on Sunday and having the family over.  I think I'll make a banana-chocolate chip bundt cake to use up the ripe bananas on the counter.  I really love cooking.
